2:30 PM | Fly tying | Phil Rowley | Dubbing Loops for Stillwaters | Balanced flies, designed to suspend horizontally beneath an indicator are a must have pattern style for any stillwater fly box. In this prsentation Phil will be tying a number of flies using several different techniques illustrating how balanced flies have evolved from the original pin extenstion process. Patterns you can use under an indicator or present using traditional cast and retrieve techniques. |
3:30 PM | Fly tying | Brian Chan | The Low Down on Blobs | This presentation will introduce the stillwater fly fisher to blob flies which are tied to represent clusters of zooplankton. I will explain where zooplankton live in the lake, their movement patterns and why they are such an important food source for trout and other fish species. Next I will review tying materials that we use to tie blobs and then tie several different patterns that are consistent producers for me. I will wrap up the presentation with some tips on how and when to fish blobs. |
